I believe that the assessment does not match the instruction, which really puts our students at a disadvantage. They are already limited by their vocabulary. When the format and questioning changes, they are totally lost. Sometimes I believe they DO understand the concepts, but are not able to make transfers into a different format.

I just purchased an HP IPAQ - 4100 series that allows me to have all my appointments "at hand", take notes when observing in classrooms, record small messages at the touch of a button. What a HUGE help! Now, I am totally portable and organized when coaching.

I've become aware (again) of the need to build relationship and trust before attempting to coach my colleagues. This has been a relationship, trust building, and assessment week. I think we're off to a good start...
